Obiettivi formativi
L'insegnamento si inserisce nell'area orientalistica, della quale approfondisce in particolare le conoscenze nell'ambito della linguistica semitica.
La formazione linguistica e filologica sull'aramaico giudaico palestinese sarà applicabile anche nello studio di altre lingue semitiche, per quanto riguarda le competenze metalinguistiche, l'analisi dei testi e lo studio della loro tradizione.
L'analisi letteraria dei testi permetterà di interpretare criticamente e con autonomia di giudizio forme e funzioni del targum e delle aggiunte e interpolazioni nel testo targumico.
The course belongs to a groups of disciplines dealing with oriental languages and focuses on Semitic linguistics.
Linguistic analysis and philological methods will be applicable to the study of other Semitic languages.
The literary analysis of the texts will allow to interpret critically forms and functions of Targums and textual expansions of Targumic texts.

Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi
Gli studenti sapranno:
- leggere e tradurre testi in aramaico giudaico palestinese, anche autonomamente, con l'ausilio di un dizionario;
- analizzare e commentare i testi presentati a lezione, facendo uso degli strumenti critici e bibliografici presentati a lezione;
- interpretare criticamente e con autonomia di giudizio determinati testi letterari, contestualizzandoli nel periodo storico in cui sono stati prodotti e tramandati e nella cultura di cui sono espressione;
- utilizzare i principali strumenti bibliografici (manuali, dizionari, grammatiche, enciclopedie, database lessicali disponibili online) sull'aramaico giudaico palestinese.
- Students be able to read and translate texts in Jewish Palestinian Aramaic, even on their own, with the help of a dictionary;
- They will be able to analyze and comment on the texts presented in class, using the critical and bibliographic tools presented in class;
- They will be able to interpret critically and autonomously literary texts, contextualizing them in the historical period in which they were produced and transmitted and in the culture they express;
- They will be able to use bibliographic tools (handbooks, dictionaries, grammars, encyclopedias, lexical databases available online) on Jewish Palestinian Aramaic.

Modalità di insegnamento
Il corso si divide in due parti:
1. Nella prima parte, attraverso lezioni frontali, il docente presenterà i targum palestinesi e la poesia in aramaico giudaico-palestinese.
2. Nella seconda parte, che avrà forma seminariale, ogni studente presenterà alla classe un brano in aramaico giudaico palestinese.
The course is divided into two parts:
1. In the first part, the teacher presents the Palestinian Targums and Jewsih Aramaic poetry.
2. The second part of the course is a workshop, in which each student presents her/his reading and translation of a Jewish Palestinian Aramaic text.

Per gli studenti frequentanti la verifica dell'apprendimento avverrà sulla base del contributo del singolo studente all'attività seminariale.
Gli studenti non frequentanti dovranno concordare un programma di letture con il docente.
La traduzione e la presentazione orale possono essere in lingua inglese.
The exam consists in the evaluation of the student's contribution to the translation workshop.
Students who cannot attend the classes should get in contact with the teacher.
The presentation can be given in English.
