Obiettivi formativi
'Norreno'
Scopo del modulo è fornire agli studenti le principali nozioni storiche, linguistiche, letterarie, ecdotiche e paleografiche per la comprensione, contestualizzazione e restituzione critica di Framfǫr Maríu, apocrifo del nuovo testamento riguardante la morte, dormizione e transito di Maria, tradotto in islandese nel XV secolo.

The program aims to provide an advance understanding of the so-called Framfǫr Maríu - a New Testament apocryphon concerning Mary's death, dormition, and transit into heaven that was translated into Icelandic during the fifteenth century - through core principles and topics of Medieval History, Linguistics, Literature, Palaeography, and Textual Criticism.

Dopo un'introduzione alla lingua e alla letteratura norrena, gli studenti verranno guidati dal docente in un lavoro di trascrizione diplomatica e traduzione del testo direttamente sull'unico manoscritto medievale superstite, Copenaghen, Den Arnamagnæanske Samling, AM 232 fol. (ff. 83v-85v). Le fonti latine soggiacenti le sezioni studiate verranno identificate tramite l'uso dei database della Patrologia Latina, Corpus Christianorum e In Principio e un nuovo testo critico verrà stabilito tramite procedure ecdotiche e criteri di critica testuale. Inoltre, durante due viaggi studio che si terranno all'interno del corso, i partecipanti avranno l'opportunità di confrontare AM 232 fol. con alcuni manoscritti gotici latini conservati presso la Biblioteca Capitolare di Vercelli e la Biblioteca Nazionale di Torino.
After an introduction into the Old Norse language and literature, the class will work first-hand on the Old Norse apocryphon. The entire text will be transcribed and translated directly from the sole medieval preserving it, Copenaghen, Den Arnamagnæanske Samling, AM 232 fol. (ff. 83v-85v), its Latin sources will be hunted with the aid of the Patrologia Latina, Corpus Christianorum, and In Principio databases, and a new text will be established according to the procedures of Textual Criticism. Moreover, attendants will be given the rare opportunity to compare AM 232 fol. with coeval Latin Gothic codices that are now preserved at the Inventory and Cathedral Library in Vercelli and the National Library in Turin during two study trips.
